Hello everyone,

my name is Gabriele, I am 23 years old, I live in Italy, I have recently joined the astra gsi forum, and since 7 May 2022 I am the happy owner of an Opel Astra GSI 2.0 16v C20XE with 129000km, totally original, I am the second owner , the first owner was an elderly lady who used the car to go to church on Sundays and the rest of the days went shopping. The car is registered as a gold plate in Italy, it would be the highest honor that a car in Italy can get as an original vintage car. I became aware of the group thanks to the Dutch youtube channel of a guy who restores his opel "Astra GSi 2.0 16V (C20XE)". In description I leave you some photos of my astra.
PS: in the family it is the second opel astra gsi, because one belongs to my father and is white, the black one is mine! (both c20xe - 1992)

That old lady did a good thing taking care of the GSI that well, it still seems spotless without marks of time.
I can imagine you're really happy to own this car as the second person ever Does the airconditiong even still work?

the air conditioning is DIAVIA brand, installed later directly in the Opel dealer. The air conditioning still works very well!
I was afraid the ETC won't work, but it works fine.
In Italy the ASTRA GSIs are very rare, the few that have remained are heavily modified for rallies or uphill races. My father has been in possession of an Opel Astra F 1.6 (C16SE) 100hp for 20 years, bought new in 1992 and was burgundy red, unfortunately at the time we had a methane system installed for quite high petrol consumption. Almost 5 years ago we sold it with 300000km to a lady who still uses it on the highway and it is still very good! This is to say that we have always been great fans of the Opel Astra F and as such they could not fail to take an Opel Astra F GSI. (attached some photos of our ex opel astra f 1.6).

On the 20th of August we will have a meeting in Italy of opel astra gsi, the location is Amatrice (the city where in 2016 there was the earthquake). If anyone wanted to join we would be very happy!
The youtube channel that introduced me to this site and later the forum belongs to a guy who is restoring his opel astra 2.0 ex 8 valves now 16 valves, he also participated at the Autoweek interview.

On facebook we have an Italian page called "I MALATI MENTALI DELL' ASTRA F" populated by fans of opel astra gsi, for those interested can sign up.

Hi there, it's halfway finished, but I've a project in my house I've been extremely busy with for the past few months. I'm getting to the end of it (floors are in since saturday. I will give the video some more of my time soon.

Hi Gabriele, I've uploaded a new video and added subtitles in Italian by translating the English subtitles I always add through Google translate, assuming this gives a better result than automaticly generated subtitles. Is that correct?
